Roman is a London-based photographer whose work is driven by a lifelong pursuit of authenticity in portraiture. With roots in the analog era — where he learned to shoot, develop, and print his own images — Roman developed an early sensitivity to composition, storytelling, and the importance of making every frame count.
His fascination with the human face began in childhood through drawing and evolved into a photographic practice that captures spontaneous, character-rich portraits. Influenced by an artistic family background and shaped by decades of observation, Roman’s images reflect a deep understanding of expression, presence, and the quiet poetry of everyday moments.
Roman’s photographic journey was shaped alongside a career in architecture, where he was commissioned to document the human side of designed spaces. His portraits have been published, exhibited, and form part of a permanent display at the London Business School’s Sammy Ofer Centre. Over the years, he has also been commissioned to photograph a variety of subjects — from live performances and ceremonial events to academic profiles — all approached with the same eye for truth and spontaneity.
His current practice focuses on street-style portraiture throughout London. Having explored the city with a camera for over 20 years, Roman has cultivated not only a rich visual archive but also an intuitive understanding of its rhythms, moods, and hidden corners. He now shares this insight with fellow photographers and creative enthusiasts through his evolving brand and persona: BeMoreRoman.
At the heart of Roman’s work — whether through the lens or through his expressive portrait drawings — is the belief that every true portrait is also a reflection of the artist. This is where Lens meets Line.
